Bonito Basin

Vulcanism
Pyroclastic sediments are well represented throughout the stratigraphic sequence.
Radiometric dates at the bottom of the strata are about 40 million years
and approximately 35 million years at the top. The white strata are
volcanic ash called tuff and are believed to have come from the Davis Mountains.
