In the Fall of 2002, at the behest of city officials, we applied for historic zoning for our house.  Making application required a certain amount of research into the history of the house and, by extension, the neighborhood.  When I mentioned some of the things we found out to Gail Armstrong, during a visit to Off the Wall, he suggested that I write an article for the Bouldin Creek Neighborhood Association newsletter.  I contacted Cory Walton about that.  He told me that he was doing a section about neighborhood history on the BCNA website and any submission would be welcome.  Working up material for the BCNA resulted in these pages.
